Born in 1987 in France, Saint Yves (real name Hortense Lagrange) chose her pseudonym as a tribute to writer and dancer Ruth Saint Denis and the silent film era actresses she admires. Her photography leans heavily into grain and soft focus, creating images that feel deliberately aged and dreamlike. The work has that nostalgic quality of old photographs you'd find in someone's attic. She's also a collector of found images and that sensibility shows in how she approaches her own film photography. She's exhibited in France, Belgium, Italy and the US.
