Working in black and white, Francois D. pares landscapes down to elemental contrasts. His images feel unhurried and unsentimental; they invite us to notice the geometry of infrastructure between the drama of sky and stone. Solitary objects become waypoints, measuring human scale against the reach of open country. These photographs read like notes from a traveler with no destination in mind, gathered in passing, kept for the distance they hold still.
